1. Types of NIH research funding mechanisms (e.g., grants, cooperative agreements, contracts); | Including those that provide comprehensive costs for a research project (e.g., R01) and those that provide funding for pilot studies (e.g., R21, R03)

2. NIH review processes; Including the role of NIH Institutes and Study Section review panels, deadlines, scoring system, Impact Scores, review criteria, and the allowed number of applications. 

3. Details on the individual components of an NIH research grant application; including the Research Strategy (Significance, Innovation, Approach), Specific Aims, Title, Abstract and the required compliance sections

4. Best practices and approaches for completing each component of an NIH research grant application vis a vis NIH's review criteria.
