Sleep Symposium for Clinicians & Researchers
Working Around the Clock: Health Implications of Shift Work
The goal of this symposium is to expose health professionals and scientists with up-to-date information on the relation between sleep health and infectious diseases and the immune system.
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to discuss, identify, and explain the impact of shift work on health. Participants will understand underlying biological contributors to adverse consequences of shift work and identify tools to improve sleep and cardiometabolic outcomes in shift workers. Our goals are to provide cutting-edge information and research findings to clinicians and scientists at all stages of their career and with diverse background and expertise; to create an interactive setting via discussions with each speaker and program director in which attendees can meet and learn from program faculty.
The course targets health professionals in the broad fields of primary care, pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, and cardiology, as well as scientists working in the fields of sleep and brain health. This course is open to medical doctors, researchers, nurses, physician assistants, fellows.
