Updates on recent advances and optimal management of kidney transplantation in a one-day course.

Learning Objectives
-Understanding the disparities and challenges in kidney transplantation among Hispanic populations.
-Examine the role of pancreas transplantation in the management of type 2 diabetes.
-Understanding the progress and challenges in xenotransplantation.
-Identifying non-invasive biomarkers for post-transplant monitoring to improve patient outcomes.
-Exploring belatacept as a maintenance immunosuppressive therapy in kidney transplant recipients.
-Discussing the evolving field of multi-organ transplantation.
-Exploring the role of robotic-assisted surgery in kidney transplantation and the potential benefits.
-Discussing how genetic information can inform transplant decisions and improve patient care.
-Understanding the impact of CMV infection on transplant outcomes and discussing novel therapy options for CMV infection.
-Learning about strategies and best practices to improve organ utilization and reduce organ wastage.
-Discuss a monitoring plan for early detection of recurrent IgA nephropathy, FSGS and membranous nephropathy in post-transplant patients.

Collectively, these learning objectives aim to advance the field of kidney transplantation by addressing key challenges, exploring innovative solutions, and ultimately improving the lives of patients in need of life-saving organ transplants.
